About Us
Our Story
Squaredy Cats started in Brooklyn, NY in 2008. Kurt and Elaine licensed Squaredy Cats to GUND and Kids Preferred for plush until 2013, making a total of 15 characters. Kurt continued designing Squaredy Cats on his own until 2017 when he decided to produce them with the help of crowdfunding. Since the first Reboot series Kurt (Kraken Smiles) has produced almost 30 new characters (and counting) with the help of loyal fans.
What's the Big Idea?
Squaredy Cats are meant to evoke a soft edge to the things that scare us. You can find Squaredy Cats that are Sweet, Spoopy, or Scary, but they're all squish-able and lovable.
